President Buhari reacts to deaths of three corps members

President Buhari has reacted to the death of corps members in Kano, Zamfara and Bayelsa orientation camps.‎ He has ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Ifedolapo Oladepo who died in Kano camp..

Police in Ingobor Village, Nakuru County in Kenya have arrested a man who beheaded a 22-year-old mother of two after a fight between them on Tuesday, December 6.

According to Mogoon Sub-Location Assistant Chief Josiah Rono,(pictured in the video) the woman and the suspect – who was working as the deceased’s houseboy, were involved in an illicit affair and had fallen out on the fateful day before the 23-year-old man brandished a panga (machete) and chopped off her head.

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) enjoins all taxpayers in Lagos State to be on the right side of the law and take full advantage of the 16-day grace period from December 1st to 16th, 2016 to remit all overdue taxes/levies and those that would fall due in the month of December in order to avoid prosecution.

Court dismisses Pres. Buhari’s defamation suit against AIT

Justice John Tsoho of a Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the defamation suit filed by President Buhari against DAAR Communications, owner of the African Independent Television AIT.

President Buhari filed the lawsuit against the TV station after it aired a "hate" document against him during the buildup of the 2015 presidential election. Justice Tsoho dismissed the case at its resumed hearing today.

A 75-year-old Tanzanian man has put up advertising posters in a bid to find a partner after his wife died. In the posters that have been put up in Mbagala area of Dar es Salaam, Athumani Mchambua urged interested applicants to show up for an interview.

The poster, in Swahili, says the successful candidate must be hardworking, able to handle farm work and be willing to be a step-mother to his 11 children.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane with about 47 people on board crashed in the mountainous north of the country on Wednesday, December 7th, police and the civil aviation authority said.

PIA said a plane bound for the capital, Islamabad, from the northern town of Chitral lost contact with the control tower en-route.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), this morning, stormed the home of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, at Park View Estate in Ikoyi, Lagos to conduct a search.

Suspected armed robbers reportedly wrote to some residents of Joseph Harrison Estate, Yaba Lagos, demanding they prepare to pay Christmas dues.

The residents received the letter today Wednesday, December 7th, notifying them of impending attack to collect their “dues” for the festive season. The letter which was placed on the vehicle of one of the residents, reads:

Two brothers, now aged 17 and 19 years, who tortured two young boys in 2009 when they were just 10 and 11 years old respectively, want their identity to remain secret.

The pair had lured the boys, a 9 and 11 year-old, to an isolated wasteland in Edlington, South Yorkshire, where they tortured them mercilessly for about 90 minutes and forced them to sexually assault each other until one of the boys begged to die.

Some soldiers, police officers, men of the Nigeria Air Force, have been arrested for sexually assaulting female Internally Displaced persons in various camps. Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, disclosed this yesterday while speaking with some senior officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. He said the recent report by the International Huma Rights Watch which indicted the security agents, necessitated an investigation by the police which found some of the officers culpable.
